Bluetooth BR/EDR devices with Secure Simple Pairing and Secure Connections pairing in Bluetooth Core Specification is vulnerable to a machine-in-the-middle attack. By sniffing the network traffic, a network adjacent attacker could exploit this vulnerability to launch a man-in-the-middle attack and force a short key length, leading to the discovery of the encryption key and potentially live injection.
